Comanche 3 was a helicopter simulation game of the cancelled Boeing/Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche project of the US Army. This game was developed by NovaLogic in 1997. Like NovaLogics other games of the Comanche series, it based on voxel technology, which allowed much more detailed and realistic terrains compared to simulations based on vector graphics. Here, you can see the MS-DOS demo version. Watch my channel for more about DOSBox!...
This is me playing through Oil Tank Holiday, the first mission of Comanche: Maximum Overkill. This is a helicopter simulation of the (now-cancelled) RAH-66 Comanche. The game pioneered the great graphics, low realism characteristic that went into most of NovaLogics games. The graphics were quite impressive for a 1992 DOS game (thanks to the then-pioneering voxel rendering engine), but the flight model is a bit lacking (for example, the collective acts as an altitude selector, changing your actual altitude instead of your rat...
Some gameplay with the helicopter Ambassador Gunship (AH-1 Cobra hybrid). Actually its a hybrid between Cobra, Apache and Comanche. A Cobra has 2 blades on the rotor, the Apache has 4. The Cobras 2 turbines looks different compared to Ambassador Gunship while the Apaches 2 turbines almost have the same looks as the Ambassador. The tailrotor is inbuild which resembles the Comanches while the Cobra and Apache has open tailrotors. The Cobra has landing skids, the Apache has wheels. This info was given only because to prevent an...
This was a tank simulation game done by NovaLogic in 1997. It uses their proven VoxelSpace technology, which was also used by other titles of NovaLogic to display realistic terrains and models.
